Phyllis Kane is the founder, owner and head trainer at Beautiful Day Farm. Prior to starting Beautiful Day in January 2009, Phyllis was head trainer for seven years at Rose Hill Farm in Bridgehampton and at Toppings Riding Club in Sagaponack for 13 years.
A rider since age 11, Phyllis has trained with the best. She studied under Gordon Wright, considered the founder of modern riding, for five years at Wright Way Farm in South Carolina. She has also trained with George Morris, the current chef d’equipe of the U.S. Olympic Team.
Phyllis has qualified numerous students for national and regional finals. Though her instruction is not geared entirely towards showing, she is capable of taking her students to the highest level of competition.
While safety is her number one priority, Phyllis always wants her students to enjoy themselves. She regularly challenges them to be the best riders they can be.
"I teach my students to look at riding and any particular situation, not from
their own point of view, but from that of their horses'." – Phyllis Kane
